LLTV: Lunar Landing Training Vehicle
LLTV: The LLRV, Lunar Landing Research Vehicle, known by those who built and flew it as the flying bedstead, was the pre-curser to the LLTV, a training vehicle for the Apollo program's Lunar landing vehicle. Bill and Neil Armstrong were the first two astronauts to check out in the LLTV. Neil had a close call when he had to eject during one of his flights. Bill really enjoyed the challenge of the short (about two minutes of fuel) helicopter-like flights.
