The Widgeon

Widgeon General Information:  The Widgeon is a wonderful Amphibian Aircraft and very popular in the Alaska Bush.

N1340V:   Built in 1941, this airplane was delivered to the Coast Guard at Port Angeles Washington as number B203 in the same colors she's flying in now.  She served in WWII in the coastal patrol and ASW roles.  Although sold by Merrill to his son Curt, Merrill flew this airplane for many years.  Curt has since sold the aircraft himself.  We still think she's a great bird and were privileged to have flown the bird so we keep the pictures of her.  A very rare version, this one still has the original inverted in-line six, Fairchild-Ranger engines on it.

Airborne over the San Juan Islands. Curt, Merrill and Bill at Orcas Island.
