    The Director of Flight Operations well as the Chief of Safety for the Heritage Flight Museum, Merrill Wien, has had a long and distinguished career in Alaskan bush flying, military and civil aviation.  His father, Noel Wien, is considered by many to be the pioneer of Alaskan Bush flying. Merrill, his brother Richard and their sons have carried on the family aviation heritage. Many warbird enthusiasts and pilots know Merrill as a check pilot for the Confederate Air Force WW II aviation museum.
