Annual Memberships are available at the following levels:
- Individual

- Senior (55+)
- Military (active or retired, copy of ID required)

Volunteer
Volunteering at the Heritage Flight Museum will give you the opportunity to interact with some of the rarest vintage aircraft still flying. Volunteers are an essential part of our efforts; not only do they represent the Museum to our visitors, but they keep things running smoothly!
Positions that we are currently recruiting for are listed below. If you are interested in volunteering for one of the listed positions, or feel that you can bring something else to the organization, click here to download a volunteer application (pdf).
- Event Committee Member
- Docent/Greeter
- Curatorial Assistant
- Public Relations/Marketing
- Grant Writer/Fundraising
- Event Staff
In addition, our Maintenance shop is always accepting applications for volunteers who are willing to get dirty and work with the aircraft! Use the same Volunteer Application and list ‘Maintenance’ in the ‘other’ field.
Donations
The Heritage Flight Museum is a 501(c)(3) organization, that has also qualified as a private operating foundation under section 4942(j)(3) of the IRS code. Whether you have a spare bill or a million dollars, no matter what the amount, your thoughtful contribution will help us fulfill our mission to honor veterans and keep military aviation history alive! HFM will issue a Letter of Receipt to financial donors who supply us with their name and mailing address. Please speak to your accountant if you have questions about any limitations to your contribution. You can contribute in the following ways:
- Make your check payable to ‘Heritage Flight Museum’, and bring it or mail it to us at: 4165 Mitchell Way, Bellingham, WA 98226
- Donate online! Thanks to PayPal (and PayPal via ChipIn), we can accept donations online using a major credit card.
- Hand deliver your donation next time we’re open!
- Do you have family memorabilia to donate? Scroll down to learn more about our Memorabilia program.
Matching Grants
Does your employer have a matching grants program? If they do, they may ‘match’ some or all of your contribution to the Heritage Flight Museum!
Planned Giving & Bequests
Remember our Museum in your estate planning. Leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Please speak to your estate planning professional.
Memorabilia
Our collection includes everything from uniforms to pilot handbooks and handwritten mission notes… many donated by the men and women who served our country. We ask that you supply a list of the items you are donating, and a brief history of the person to whom they belonged so that we might catalog and display everything properly. Contact our Director of Programs to find out if we are currently accepting memorabilia donations (kate@heritageflight.org.)
Sponsorship
Event Sponsorship
The Heritage Flight Museum holds a number of special events throughout the year, in addition to our once-a-month open houses. The primary big event that relied heavily on financial and in-kind sponsors is the annual Warbird Weekend… whether it’s bottles of water for volunteers and pilots, or purchase of fuel for the participants aircraft. If you or your company are interested in sponsoring, please contact our Director of Programs (kate@heritageflight.org) for information on events and more importantly on the many benefits of sponsorship!
Program Sponsorship
Various programs at the Museum could use the assistance of a sponsor as well. From materials to funds, the following programs are in need of support:
- ‘Future Flyers’ Kids Area
- Flight Sim Station
- Collections Displays
- Newsletter

What non-profit doesn’t have a wish list? Here are a few things we’re in need of:
- Restoration funds for the F89
- Help bridging the ‘Monthly Gap’ of $30,000
