Warbird Weekend Open House

Date: Saturday, 8 September 2007
Time: 9am-4pm
Admission: $5 minimum donation/person requested
Location: Heritage Flight Museum ramp @ Bellingham Airport. 2000 W. Bakerview at the south end of the airfield.
Parking: Very limited! Please, please, please park in the signposted grass fields on Airport/Mitchell Way and walk over to the Museum. Handicapped parking and drop-off will be available outside the Museum hangar.

What to Expect:

  • Just like our regular, monthly open houses this is a chance to get up close to some of the aircraft of the WWII, Korea and Viet Nam era's. We have asked some of our warbird-flying friends to join us for this event, so there will be other aircraft on flying and static display as well. For a list of aircraft that are expected to be here, go the the Visiting Aircraft page...
  • There will be flights conducted throughout the day, some solo and some formation. These flights will be conducted in accordance with all of the standard flight rules at the airport - which means that there will be no special aerobatic displays or restricted air space. Our pilots always fly under the direction of the air traffic controllers and fit their passes into the general and commercial traffic here at Bellingham International.
  • The Bel-Air R/C Flyers will, as always, have their remote control aircraft (warbird and civilian) on static display in the hangar.
  • The military vehicle club members will be bringing some of their WWII-era vehicles up for the day as well.
  • Space on the ramp is very limited, so we have not secured any food vendors at this time. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches; garbage recepticles will be available for what doesn't get eaten!
  • Please leave your pets at home or in a well-ventilated vehicle... Service animals excepted.
  • There is likely to be a lot of aircraft movement during the day, so please follow the instructions of our volunteer ramp crew... they are there to guard everyone's safety!
  • Bring your cameras and your questions! Photograph your favourite airplane... have a picture taken with the pilot... talk to Veteran's about their experiences. This is a great opportunity to see living history! We hope you enjoy your visit with us!
