2010 Warbird Weekend celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Bellingham Airport!
5-6 June, 2010

1 June 2010 marks the 70th anniversary of the dedication of the Bellingham airport and thus presents the Heritage Flight Museum with the unique opportunity to bring the community’s aviation history to light. Our hope is to recreate Bellingham’s post-WWII aviation events that showcased the commercial, civilian and military aircraft of the time, and to commemorate the 66th anniversary of D-Day. The aircraft of that era are not as common now as they were then, so we’ll need a lot of support to bring in some of the rarer birds! This will be a rare opportunity to see history come alive and take to the skies. Join us as we celebrate the early days of Bellingham's aviation history!

**News**

  • [22Feb2010] - We've got our first sponsor, and we've got some details on dance tickets! $45/person or $80/couple. Be a Table Captain and buy a whole 8-person table for $300!
  • [29Jan2010] - We've put the word out to our local aviators, and the RSVP's are already coming in! Check out the Aircraft page to see who's coming!
  • [12Jan2010] - DATE CHANGE, but only by one day. This time of year is all about 'deconfliction' with other aviation events. To maximize the potential aircraft attendance, we've bumped everything forward a day in the hopes that we'll be able to get more aircraft in. So we're now Saturday and Sunday, the first weekend in June.
  • [5Jan2010] - It's officially official! Warbird Weekend 2010 has a new date and a new mission. In keeping with history, and some other not insignificant calendar conflicts in September, we have decided to do an airshow season kick-off AND celebrate the 70th year since Bellingham Airport's dedication. We're expanding our aircraft line-up to include classic civilian and commercial aircraft as well - just like they used to do it here. We're also changing the format of the dinner/dance... after 5 years, it's time to make that part of the festivities a real fundraiser for the Museum. So stay tuned, more details to come.
